From floor to final coat

One team takes the room from bare subfloor to the last brushstroke, with every layer planned together as one joined-up finish.

Seven stages, one finish

Each layer is planned with the next, so the finishes meet cleanly and the room comes together as a whole.

  1. Subfloor and levelling

The base prepared and made level, ready for the floor.

A bare subfloor with underfloor heating pipes laid out, before the floor goes down
  2. Flooring

The chosen floor laid on a sound, level base.

Oak herringbone blocks being tapped into place by hand
  3. Skirting and trims

Fitted and finished to meet the new floor neatly.

A crisp painted skirting board corner
  4. Doors and ironmongery

Doors and handles chosen to suit the room.

A study seen past an open door and its handle
  5. Walls and panelling

Walls prepared, with panelling where the design calls for it.

Panelled hallway wall with a picture light
  6. Paint and decoration

Walls and woodwork painted, with clean cut-in lines.

Sage green paint being cut in along a ceiling line
  7. Lighting and final touches

Lighting and the small details that finish the room.
